Per BW’s “Acceptable Use” policy, it is important to use BW's institutionally-supported software and systems. Faculty, staff, and students who choose to download and use other applications could be at risk for spyware, malware, viruses, or having their personal or intellectual data used by others. Unsupported programs can sometimes pose security threats to the BW network when connected to BW email accounts or other BW systems. The BW HelpDesk can only provide assistance for BW-supported software and systems.
BW currently supports three robust video conferencing tools: Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Click here for more details or select the "Virtual Meet" tab at the top of this page.
Poll Everywhere is for building online polls. Students respond from their own mobile devices. Review & quiz sessions are fun with PE. Faculty should contact a BW Instructional Designer to get a Poll Everywhere account. Registered users log in at: www.polleverywhere.com/login
Faculty who utilized proctored tests will use Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor. The Lockdown Browser prevents remote test-takers from accessing anything from their computer or on the internet. The Monitor feature uses the student's webcam to record the session. Faculty will provide details on how to download the Respondus software.
