Synchronous Video for Classes & Meetings
Bb Collaborate Ultra
Collaborate Ultra is Blackboard's live video conferencing tool. It is built into Blackboard and each course has its own Collaborate "classroom." Collaborate facilitates a synchronous virtual classroom experience where students and faculty interact remotely, breakout into groups, share applications & files, and use the virtual whiteboard. Because Collaborate is web-based, anyone with a meeting link can join a session without needing to download software.
Please use the Firefox web browser when working in Collaborate!!!
BW is a Microsoft Office 365 campus, which includes access to "Teams" collaboration software. Teams facilitates virtual meetings, document sharing, and chat. It integrates seamlessly with Outlook for easy scheduling options. Users outside of BW can be invited to join a Teams meeting and will access via the web client (no software download required).
Zoom is a BW-supported program available to all faculty. Zoom licenses provides the ability to host sessions for up to 300 attendees. New faculty who require a Zoom account should contact the IT HelpDesk for a license. BW also owns a license for large event hosting (up to 2,000 attendees). You can request use of this account in EMS or by contacting BW's Union & Conference Services department.
